The interactions were recorded for the E.A.T. (Experiments in Art and Technology): Open-Ended exhibition at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul.
Students from New York and Seoul joined together to observe what life may be for someone their age across the globe. Local Report, a project started by Robert Whitman in the 1970s, asked young participants to share 20 second videos and audio recordings capturing moments of their daily lives and environments. The videos were stitched together to create two loops that were displayed during a 45 minute live exchange where the participating students from New York and Seoul gathered to interact and ask each other questions.
The interactions were translated by CultureHub LA Director, Iris Yujin Jeong, creating a three-way connection between New York, Seoul, and LA using LiveLab, a new open-source software for distance exchange developed by CultureHub.
