“I will create an interactive istallation of projected poetry, weather balloons, and haze which asks: What are technology’s affordances and limits in future-telling? Despite state attempts to know and control the planet, we know knowledge alone isn’t enough to secure our climate future. Inspired by Hito Steyerl’s How Not to Be Seen and Zhanyi Chen’s satellite poetry, I will solicit live audience questions, both online and in the Culturelab space—only to offer cryptic answers modulated by a NYC weather API. The resulting texts will morph alongside temperature, wind, rain, and other vectors of fortunetelling. ”
