FREE: PLEASE RSVP / LIVESTREAMED
Join CultureHub's live in studio/telematic ARTALK with Josephine Dorado and Phillip Gulley. Josephine and Phillip will be conducting an #IdentityMashup lab, in which participants create (dis)embodied stories based on Jung's shadow archetype, and explore identity through a mashup of avatar roleplaying, livestreaming and performance in a mixed reality environment. Short stories based on shadow work will be told through an avatar whose face is mapped to a live video stream of the participants' actual faces, creating hybrid physical-online identities that are simultaneously distorted and revealing.
Josephine Dorado is a social entrepreneur, producer, educator and artist whose work focuses on architecting innovative learning and mixed reality experiences. She was a Fulbright scholarship recipient and initiated the Kidz Connect program, which connects youth internationally via creative collaboration and theatrical performance in virtual worlds. Josephine also received a MacArthur Foundation award to co-found Fractor, which matches news with opportunities for activism. She currently teaches at the New School and is the live events prodcuer for This Spartan Life, a talk show inside the video game, Halo. http://funksoup.com
